The Ladies played their first competitive match of the season yesterday against Frome Town Ladies. In the third minute defender Sarah scored a great goal straight from a corner. Winchesters second goal came after 10 minutes from an unstoppable shot from Georgina. Then just before half time a good team move was finished off well by Kayleigh making it 3-0 at the break.
In the second half the opposition created their only real opportunity of the game from a corner when they drove a well hit shot on target but Lauren pulled off a great save to keep her clean sheet. Then Flyers added two more goals in 10 minutes curtsey of Chaffey. Her first was a great solo effort as she picked the ball up from deep took on a couple of players then beat the keeper with a cool finish. The soon after she doubled her tally by hitting a great shot from 20 yards into the top corner. This left the final score at 5-0 to Winchester meaning they progress to the next round and will face Warsash.
